Important: This firmware is only for the InvizBox 2 which is pictured below (black or white):
This release focuses on fixing some of the most common issues users have been having problems with.
Changelog 30/04/2024:
- Added support for upgraded InvizBox 2 WiFi
- Fixed an issue where the 5GHz WiFi range was poor on certain InvizBox 2 devices
- Consolidated firmware updates for different providers to come from one endpoint
- Updated initial boot code to recognize the presence of different WiFi chips
- Added support for newer Android and iOS devices
- Moved underlying VPN for InvizBox VPN customers from 3rd party to in-house
- Added more specific information to the API when VPN connections are failing
- Added UI to guide users when their OpenVPN credentials are incorrect
- Compressed Administration Interface images to decrease firmware size
- Fixed some cosmetic issues in the Administration Interface
- Updated the InvizBox 2 wireless configuration so that WiFi is more reliable when lots of networks are up simultaneously
Upgrade Instructions:
- Plug in your InvizBox 2, make sure it is connected and functional. Your device will update over the first hour of it being plugged in, at that stage a banner will be available in the Administration Interface for you to upgrade. You can also speed the process up by clicking "Check for Updates" on the System - Firmware page.
- Click the banner which will bring you to the Firmware page (if not already there).
- On the Firmware page, identify the update section (highlighted in blue) and click "Install Update"
Upgrade Instructions (app):
- Plug in your InvizBox 2, make sure it is connected and functional.
- Update the Administration Interface App from you app store.
- Connect your phone to your InvizBox 2 network and open the Administration App.
- If the App tells you an update is needed but not downloaded yet, click Check for Update
- Once the update is downloaded on your InvizBox 2, the App will provide you with an update button to install it.

How do I tell which invizbox I have ….go or 2
Hello, do you intend to include WireGuard as one of the available protocols? Proton plans to discontinue support for IKEV2 soon, and while OpenVPN is reliable, it's often too slow for streaming.
