In this article you can find out how to configure OpenVPN on your Android device using the VPN username and password you received from us. OpenVPN is a VPN client i.e. a program that allows you to connect to a VPN server.
To configure OpenVPN on your Android device, follow the steps below:
1. Get your VPN Username and Password
To get your InvizBox VPN username and password, follow the steps in the article here.
2. Install OpenVPN Connect on your Device
Install the OpenVPN Connect app from the Play Store (here).
3. Download the VPN Configuration Files
On your Android device, download the VPN configuration called vpn_configuration.zip file from the bottom of this page.
Open the Files app. Navigate to your Downloads folder and press the downloaded file.
Press the ellipsis icon in the top right and press "Select all".
Press the ellipsis icon again and press "Extract to...". Then press "Extract".
4. Add VPN Configurations to OpenVPN Connect
Open the OpenVPN connect app, and press "File". In the popup, press "ALLOW" to enable OpenVPN connect to import the VPN configuration.
Navigate to the place you extracted the VPN configurations to in step 3, select the VPN configuration file you wish to use and press "IMPORT". The VPN configuration file names are prefixed with the country code of their location (e.g. ar-invizbox.ovpn is for Argentina).
Enter the username you retrieved in step 1. Then press "Save password" and enter the password you retrieved in step 1.
Press "ADD" to import the VPN configuration into OpenVPN Connect.
5. Connecting to InvizBox VPN
To connect to your VPN server, press the toggle beside it in the OpenVPN Connect app.
The first time you connect, there will be a popup requesting permissions for OpenVPN Connect. In the popup, press "OK".
In the "Select Certificate" popup, press "CONTINUE".
OpenVPN Connect will connect to your VPN server. You will see a VPN icon in your status bar while you are connected.
