You just received your InvizBox 2 and need to enter your VPN credentials but you are not sure where to enter them or where you can get them from. Or you have a new set of VPN credentials from your VPN provider and wish to use them with your InvizBox 2.
Entering your VPN credentials:
You will first need to reach your InvizBox 2's Administration Interface. There are two ways to provide the IB2 with your VPN credentials, either during the onboarding or on the 'VPN Account' page in the Administration Interface.
Onboarding:
The first time you access the Admin Interface (either on your computer or using the Android or iOS app) you will be prompted to enter your VPN credentials during the onboarding.
In the image above you can see what the onboarding page would look like for a Windscribe VPN user. You should note that not all VPN providers will have the "IKEv2" section.
The above image shows the onboarding page from the Android app.
In the Administration Interface:
If you have completed the onboarding and wish to change your VPN credentials you can do so after logging in to the Administration Interface in the 'System - VPN Account' page.
Getting your VPN credentials:
Some VPN providers use different credentials for logging in to their website and for accessing their VPN servers. You can find which credentials you will need to use with your InvizBox 2 for your specific VPN provider below by selecting one of the links below:
InvizBox VPN:
If you purchased your InvizBox 2 with a VPN subscription your device will arrive ready to use with your VPN credentials already set up on the device.
You may still want to view your VPN credentials, the first thing to know is that your InvizBox VPN credentials will be different from the credentials you use to log in to our website. You can retrieve your VPN credentials by following these steps:
- Log in to the 'My Account' section on our website.
- Once logged in select 'VPN Account' in the menu on the left.
- You will now see your VPN username, your password can be seen by clicking the 'View VPN Password' button.
For InvizBox VPN your OpenVPN and IKEv2 credentials are the same.
ExpressVPN:
ExpressVPN use a different set of credentials to log in to their website and to use their VPN with OpenVPN. This is why the credentials you use to log in to the ExpressVPN website will not work on your InvizBox 2.
Click the following link to retrieve your OpenVPN or IKEv2/IPsec credentials: Manual Setup page on ExpressVPN site.
IPVanish:
Use the same credentials you use to log in to the IPVanish website.
My Expat Network:
My Expat Network use a different username to log in to their website and to use their VPN with OpenVPN. This is why the username you use to log in to the My Expat Network website will not work on your InvizBox.
Click the following link to log in:
You can find your VPN username under the "VPN Username" column, this is the username you will need to use in your InvizBox 2.
The password will be the same as you use to log in to "My Expat Network" website.
NordVPN:
Use the same credentials you use to log in to the Nord VPN website.
Private Internet Access:
Use the same credentials you use to log in to the Private Internet Access website.
ProtonVPN:
ProtonVPN use a different set of credentials to log in to their website and to use their VPN with OpenVPN. This is why the credentials you use to log in to the ProtonVPN website will not work on your InvizBox 2.
Click the following link to log in:
Once logged in you will find your OpenVPN credentials under "Account - OpenVPN / IKEv2 username".
Surfshark:
Surfshark use a different set of credentials to log in to their website and to use their VPN with OpenVPN. This is why the credentials you use to log in to the Surfshark website will not work on your InvizBox 2.
Click the following link to log in:
Once logged in you can get your OpenVPN credentials from the "Credentials" tab.
Windscribe:
Windscribe use a different set of credentials to log in to their website and to use their VPN with OpenVPN or IKEv2. This is why the credentials you use to log in to the Windscribe website will not work on your InvizBox.
Click the following link to retrieve your OpenVPN credentials (you may need to login first and then click the Get Credentials button):
Windscribe OpenVPN Credentials
Note: You can only use the VPN credentials from the VPN provider that corresponds to your InvizBox 2. So for example if you purchased an InvizBox 2 for InvizBox VPN, this IB2 will only work with InvizBox VPN and not any other VPN provider.
